Ted on his horse Blackie

Ted at 12 years of age

About this site

I have been meaning to develop this site for many years now and I am finally getting around to it. Many people knew Ted Noffs as the Man of the Cross; charismatic and prophetic theologian, philosopher, author, poet and social engineer. He was a great Australian ambassador and was known and respected nationally and internationally. He was a shining spirit; a giant in his intellect.

Ted mingled with the mighty and the needy and treated them all with the same compassion and care. One of his favorite sayings was simply that "People Matter Most" and he practiced that belief every day.

I knew Ted as a father, friend and colleague. I loved him dearly and still miss him every day. I feel it is important to share some of the materials that document his life as a celebration of his great work and accomplishments. This is not a commercial site nor enterprise, but rather a work of love from a son to his father.

Hopefully, there are scholars and young people reading this site who will benefit from getting to know the work of Ted Noffs, from his early days in Mudgee to his work in the Outback, on to Chicago, then to his appointment at the Central Methodist Mission in Sydney and finally his landmark tenure at the Wayside Chapel in Kings Cross.
